The Legend called DJ Obi

Having wowed the world by DJing for a staggering 240 hours in 2016 to set a record of longest marathon club DJing, Obi Ajuonuma, popularly known as DJ OBI, etched his name in the history book of Afrobeats and the world at large. This accomplishment not only showcased OBI’s endurance but also positioned him on a global radar as a force to recon with in the entertainment world.

OBI began his journey in Worcester, where he first explored the world of mixing while studying. He often travelled from place to place to entertain people with his craft and even came down to Nigeria during holidays just to perform at clubs.

As part of his contribution to the ‘Afrobeats to the world’ movement, DJ Obi considers himself the vibe originator of a popular chill spot, OBI’S House. Not only that, he further showed his dedication to the movement with his recent collaboration with one of the rising stars of the Afrobeats genre, Musgan who is signed to Big 7, a new label affiliated with Burna Boy.

OBI’s stage presence is a very powerful force, from getting audiences to groove at Big Brother Naija to leaving an indelible mark on international stages in New York City and Virginia.

His success as a DJ is beyond the booth as his influence extends to the corporate realm with notable companies seeking his signature as Ambassador, Pepsi is a testament to this.

As OBI continues to gyrate forward as a successful DJ, his journey, from breaking records to shaping global trends, gives a vibrant portrait of a talented DJ.
